Ipoh Fun Ride 2013

In conjunction with Malaysia Day , MICA has organized a 50km ride around Ipoh on Sept 15th 2013, estimating a turnup of about 2000 riders. Registration fee was RM60 which includes goodie bag consisting of jersey + sleeves (for women only), cheap plastic sunglasses, registration number, biscuits and other little sampling products.

Wasnt too sure if this is a full government organized ride or if it was semi partnership, i must say, the ride was pretty well organized. Flagged off after one speech and national anthem at about almost 7.30am, the first 10km was a tad bit slow going through the city, going into a nice park and human traffic piled up. From there, we ride to Tambun and was allowed to ride into Lost World of Tambun.

Overall, i enjoyed the ride as it was well organized and mainly joined the ride so that i could get to know Ipoh better. The weather that day was perfect, wasnt hot and there was no rain. Plenty of freebies like ice cream, nasi lemak, buns, drinks were given out. The organizers did a great job getting sponsors. Kudos to the organizing team!
